About 100 soldiers were welcomed back to Kansas on Wednesday. Fifty others said farewell as they prepared to start a year's tour of duty in Iraq.
During a ceremony at a hangar at Fort Riley's Marshall Army Air Field, soldiers with the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, who were deployed in September 2003 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom, were honored for their service and reunited with their families. They had arrived in Kansas earlier in the day at Topeka's Forbes Field.See the full content of this document
