The Topeka City Council agreed late Tuesday to put aside a half million dollars that was overbudgeted for a 1996 bridge project to enable the city to finance its transition to a council-manager form of government.
Council members voted 5-4 to approve an ordinance through which the city sets aside $504,372 in leftover money with plans to use what is necessary for the transition, with the balance then being returned to the city's general fund.See the full content of this document
