Rooney Rides 'Black Stallion'expocentre Goes to Dogsjazz Series Heats Up

Summary


In the first installment of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library's Ride the Wild Horse Film Series, Mickey Rooney played a young horse trainer in 1944's "National Velvet." In the third movie of the series, 1979's "The Black Stallion," Rooney returns to the stable as older and wiser horse trainer Henry Daily in "The Black Stallion," which will get a free screening at 6:30 p.m. today in Marvin Auditorium at the library, 1515 S.W. 10th. The G-rated movie adaptation of Walter Farley's novel co-stars Kelly Reno, Teri Garr and Hoyt Axton.
