1 From your past experience, what is the trip to Alaska like?

Really, really, really long. Last year we got stuck in the Seattle airport for 10 hours because of the weather. I think it ended up taking around 24 hours to actually get from Santa Fe to Fairbanks. The hardest part of the trip is the eight-hour bus ride to Fairbanks after the two flights it takes to get to Anchorage. Other than the travel, Alaska is a beautiful place. It's really a privilege being able to fly there for free and bus around and see all the mountains, rivers and scenery there. It's like going to a different country.
