Summary


KTWU has been honored with a Bronze Prize for its documentary "Black/White & Brown: Brown Versus the Board of Education of Topeka in the 26th Annual International Telly Awards.

The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. "Black/White & Brown" presents the story, events and circumstances of 1954 decision to desegregate public schools. The program is narrated by television journalist Bill Kurtis. It was produced, written and directed by Dave Kendall, KTWU's director of production and co-host of "Sunflower Journeys." The associate producer was Jim Kelly and the director of photography was Scott Williams. Original music was composed and performed by Lemuel Sheppard.
