Meals on Wheels needs holiday and summer help delivering meals. A typical delivery route consists of 12 to 15 stops. Meals can be picked up at Stormont-Vail HealthCare or one of five other community sites between 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. Routes normally take 45 to 60 minutes. New volunteers will be trained. The Capital-JournalA fundraiser has been scheduled for JJ Krentz, son of Kevin and Tiffanie Krentz, of Topeka, who suffers from Dravet Syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes severe epilepsy and developmental delay. The intent is to raise money for 4 Paws for Ability so JJ can receive a Seizure Alert Service Dog.
