Mail Ballots

Summary


Amid a controversy over the use of mail ballots in Shawnee County, a Kansas House-Senate conference committee on Thursday considered a bill designed to help keep better track of mail ballots that third parties deliver to elections offices.

The committee was expected to continue meeting into the night to discuss the bill. It would require any voter handing over a mail ballot to someone other than a family member for delivery to the elections office to sign a statement saying he or she entrusts that ballot to whoever takes it.
