LAWRENCE --- When the dust has settled and the presidential campaigning is over, Washington Post national political correspondent David Broder believes the people of the United States will cast their votes for the candidate who promises to listen and act.

"This year, more than any other year, people are actually asking very probing questions," Broder said. "People are asking 'what about jobs? What about Social Security? How will you help me to pay my bills?' "
